Today we boarded the M/V Granite State out of Rye Beach, NH and embarked on a four and half hour "Five Lighthouse Cruise".
Despite a bit of cloud cover, cold temps, big waves and small boat (that was packed), we braved the seas of the Atlantic.
Unfortunately, after a few hours, the wind and the high seas proved to be too much (plus the fact that at least six people became ill) and we had to cut our trip short. We were only able to see three of the five lighthouses (Boon Light, White Island Light and - my personal favorite - Nubble Light).
I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative by renowned lighthouse expert Jeremy D'Entremont and checking out these scenic lighthouses up close. And plowing through all the big waves was almost fun! Thankfully, I was not one of the folks sitting on the side of the boat that got drenched the whole way back!
Here are a few photos from our trip.
